RISCUL INUNDAŢIILOR ÎN AMONTE DE LACUL IZVORUL MUNTELUI ŞI EFECTUL IMEDIAT ASUPRA TRĂSĂTURILOR GEOMORFOLOGICE ALE ALBIEI
ABSTRACT. - Flood risk upstream Izvoru Muntelui Lake and their forthright effect on the riverbed’s geomorphological features. Bearing the highest hydroenergetical potential of the mountainous area of the Eastern Carpathians, Bistriţa is one of the most important rivers of these mountains. After its hydrotechnical improvement, the evolution system of discharge rates and river levels upstream and downstream Izvoru Muntelui Lake has been radically changed. Particularly in the last period, winter floods occur upstream the lake, due to corroborating factors (the foehnisation of the air masses in the Dornelor depression; the channel morphology; the hydrotechnical structures; the expansion of human settlements in the meadow’s area; the occurrence of freeze-up / breakup dams; riverbed aggradation at the lake’s tail). The area affected by floods is relatively large, the material losses are really frequent, and there have been registered human life losses. For breaking the dams or the ice bridges is used even dynamite.
