Abstract. The Effect of the Dangerous Hydrometeorological Phenomena in May 2019 in Salaj County. In the second half of May, on the background of a whole month with heavy rainfall, in Salaj county appeared a series of dangerous hydro meteorological phenomena such as torrential rains, falls of hail of big dimensions, strong winds here and there with a tornado aspect, as well as overflows of the rivers. These affected 50 localities of the county as well as a series of hydrotechnical improvements having both social and environmental effects but especially significant material damages.
