RISKY PHENOMENA AND HYDRATE PROCESSES IN THE URBAN AREAS
IOANA URCAN
ABSTRACT: Risky phenomena and hydrate processes in the
urban areas. The study includes a conceptual approach
to the term ‘risk’ and presents a typology of the urban risks. Cities appear as
areas of predilection for the location of risks, the urban development and the
development of risks being inseparable. Urban waterborne risks relate in most
cases to the risks of flooding caused by the floods of a stream or by the falls
of water that have a large variation in the urbanized area. The need for
prevention policies meets the objective of reducing the impact of these risks.
The notion of sustainable development emphasizes the need to involve the local
population in the management of risks. Disseminating the information about risks
is not enough. People should also be encouraged to participate in the management
of risks.
Keywords: risk, urban areas, prevention policies.
