Abstract. – The Evolution of the Human Communities’ Vulnerability and Resilience of the Haţeg Country. Vulnerability and resilience assessment is a complex approach as it implies the human communities that are subject to frequent changes and subjectivity. As Ţara Haţegului is concerned, the processes are related to slopes as well as to flood plains. Thus, we tried to establish the vulnerabulity of the population to these processes and their capacity to overrule the consequences that may occur. The results show that the vulnerability is moderate to high, while their resilience shows that recovery would be very difficult and time consuming.
