ABSTRACT. - The Coastal Zone Area with Emphasys to the Romanian Side of the Black Sea – Geographical Characteristics, Impacts, Management. At the beginning of the study the concept of coastal zone is defined based on several physical and economical criteria. Further on special emphasis is attached to the variation of the sea level and its impact on the geographical environment as well as the actions meant to diminish this process. At the end of the study the characteristics of the Romanian sea-side are underlined based on the physical-geographycal characteristics and the social-economical importance.
