ABSTRACT.- The environmental perception and the human responses regarding risk. As a complex human phenomena, perception intermediates man’s relations with the environment. By it, the individual or the human group manage to realize a sequencial estimation of the extreme events and of the possible efects, reaching from sensations (stimuli) to reasons that essentialise and quality risk both quantitative and qualitative. Three paradigms are being taken into consideration: the axiomatic measurement, the socio-cultural paradigm and the psychometric one. On man’s capacity to inform about the geographical reality (searched and unsearched information and acumulated from experiences) will depend> the opinion, the altitude, the behavior and the action of the individuals or of the human groups in the context of the producing of the risk. Man’s reaction has proved to be multispectral but there still are similitudes and convergences. The process of perception and of the responses given by man to events will lead to the forms of approaching the reconversion and rehabilitation of the environment.
